You know you're from a big family when...

I recently saw a post on BuzzFeed of a list of signs that you live in a big family. It was a little inaccurate, and being from a family of seven myself, I think my list is a bit more realistic.

   12 Signs You're from a Big Family
  1. Long hot showers? Yeah right.
  2. You’re not surprised when your toothbrush is wet.
  3. If you want to have a private phone conversation, hide in the bathroom or the closet. Or on the roof.
  4. Just because someone’s singing an aria doesn’t mean somebody else can’t practice Carol of the Bells on piano at the same time.
  5. If you want seconds, you’d better inhale your food.
  6. “New” always means “new-to-you.”
  7. You’ll never have your own room, but you might graduate to the top bunk.
  8. When you make cookies, you always have to make a double batch because half the dough somehow disappears before the cookies are baked.
  9. A quiet house is downright creepy.
  10. Forget about sleeping in. Ever. Especially on weekends.
  11. Don’t throw your socks in the laundry. You’ll never see them again.
  12. It can take your parents up to 2 days to realize you have a friend over.
Even though I suffer through these terrible daily tragedies, I wouldn't give up my family for anything. Except maybe candy. :)
